Trong trường hợp sau, interfaces Eth1/1 and Eth1/2 được cấu hình là VWire:

OID SNMP cho ifAdminStatus và ifOperStatus như sau:
ifAdminStatus (Interface admin status) : 1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.7.x
ifOperStatus (Interface oper status): 1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.8.x
Nếu Eth1/1 tắt và Link State Pass Through được bật, thì Eth1/2 sẽ sớm bị hỏng. Trong trạng thái ngừng hoạt động, chỉ trạng thái "ifAdminStatus" của Eth1/1 bật lên và trạng thái còn lại bị ngừng hoạt động (xem hình bên dưới).
